February 14th 2012 - The second edition of the Newsletter has been sent to all members (email & postal) It is also available to view on the 'Newsletter 2012' page of this website.
January 22nd 2012 - We now have a new page on the website. 'League News 2012' On this page will be any news from the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League that the Umpires Association Committee feels should be published for all members to see. The page contains Rule Changes for 2012 which were passed at the League AGM and also a copy of the Umpires Association Report given at the League AGM by Dave Lawson.
THE FIRST EDITION OF THE NEWSLETTER HAS NOW BEEN SENT TO ALL MEMBERS (to those without email it is in the post today, Tuesday)

The League's Treasurer STUART ANDERSON is taking part in a fund raising event by abseiling down the side of a MANCHESTER HOTEL.
Please see the 'Events' page of the website for details about this daring event.
All league fixtures and 20/20 fixtures are now updated with Wirral CC taking the place of Sandbach CC.
 With regard to Sandbach Cricket Club being expelled from the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League. The following statement has been issued by the Cheshire Clubs Cricket Committee.
Statement:
As a result of the decision to expel Sandbach CC from the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League a meeting of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance and the MBCCL was held, under the auspices of the Cheshire Clubs Cricket Committee, at Hale Barns CC on Wednesday 4th January 2012 and the following was agreed:
Sandbach 1st and 2nd XI will be placed in the CCA for the 2012 season.
Wirral CC 1st XI will be promoted from the CCA to Division 3 and Wirral CC 2nd XI to Division C of the MBCCL.
 The Disciplinary Committee of the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League met on the 7th December 2011 to consider charges against Sandbach Cricket Club.The full report and penalties are now on the 'Disciplinary Committee' page of the website
Some pointers to help you get used to the new Website.
As you can see at the top of the page all the website pages are listed (this is far better than the old site was). Just point your mouse at one of the page names and click. that page will then open. A difference with the new website is the results pages. The old site had the league information included on the results page, this new website has the league information listed as a seperate page. The news pages will be updated when and if there is any news from the League.
As much information as we can give will be included on this website.
New for 2012 will be a Umpires Newsletter which will be published each month. This Newsletter will be sent via email where possible so please be sure that you have updated any changes in your email address and that you have let Geoff Young know of any changes. If you are new to the email circuit and Geoff has not got your email address then please make sure he has it as soon as possible.
The Draws for the 1st & 2nd XI Preliminary Rounds and the 1st Rounds of the Twenty/20 Knockout Competition are now on the website. See 20/20 pages.
22nd November 2012 - The Fixtures for all Divisions (both 1st & 2nd XI) are now on the website.
2nd XI RESULTS SERVICE 2012
As 2011 proved a success in getting the 2nd XI results onto both the League's website www.mbccl.co.uk and the Umpires Association website (if you are reading this then you have successfully found your way to the Umpires Association website) www.mbcclua.org.uk as early as possible after the Saturday matches we are hoping that this will continue into the 2012 season.
To all 2nd XI Team Captains:- it only takes a quick text message to let us know the result of your match, or email the result as soon as you can after the finish of your match. That way we can have the results and League tables updated as soon as possible.
There are a number of ways you can do this and the details are as follows:-
Text:- 07960851410 or 07752239187 (Please do not call these numbers, just text as I will be Umpiring some Saturdays, and will be unable to answer the phone)
Details required when texting your results:- Won won the Toss? - Who batted First? - and finally the scores. Also do not forget to send in your results sheets to the League Results Secretary, Graham Beckett (contact details in the Handbook) All results are provisional until confirmed by the Results Secretary, any adjustments to scores and tables will then be made.
